Powder blue dress

Just like that, it’s Monday again. As you read this I bet you’re probably rolling on your bed struggling to get up and wondering what to wear to work. When you finally do, let me preface by saying when I moved here newly I got a lot of advice on how to cope with living in a new city 7755 miles away, one of which was irrespective of the weather I should never leave the house without a jacket because the California weather is bipolar. Living here for the past 17 months I’d say it has been the best advice anyone has ever given me. The past week it rained back to back and for someone who is prone to cold having a coat in the car has been a lifesaver.

Back to talking about style, you can step into your workplace this morning in a relatively simple outfit like a powder blue dress. This is the perfect dress for Monday. I love the detailing of the frills in front and the not so high slit. This outfit requires no effort whatsoever. I kept it all simple and easy but a statement heel is definitely required, when I got this dress I got it in a size 6 and imagine my shock to find out I dropped a dress size even with all the chocolate almond I’ve been munching on well I’m glad I lost some weight when I wasn’t even trying but not so happy the dress wasn’t body hugging as I needed it to be.

I layered up with a coat just In case it starts to get cold it’s doesn’t hurt to be prepared for this season of rain. Talking about rain, raining season makes me homesick. It was my favorite season back home, I loved the sound it makes when it pours and my favorite thing to do is snuggle under a blanket, binge watch an entire series and drink hot cocoa. Lately, all I do is try to catch a nap and lazy about all week I need more indoor fun things to do when it rains. What fun things do you do when it rains?
